a story.

Please read this.

Like at least try.

I had to write a short story for class using 4 random things i picked.

The story is rather DIFFERENT.

Thought you might find it interesting.

Here it is:

Boris laid down beside his wife of 20 years as she curled over to him. Wrapping herself tight against the warmth of his body. Her position reminded him of a Koala. Thus, her pet name.  He grew so fond of koalas that they stayed right opposite the city’s koala park and had a koala sculpture right beside their bed.

He had fallen in love with her in high school. Him being the artist, and she, the girl sitting solemnly at the back of class. He sweared she’d be the love of his life.
However, as year past, his career took off but his love had dwelled away. His eyes fell upon young girls, they reminded him of his teens. The rebellion years. Full of mystery, passion and desire. He found joy in one-night stands yet he felt the guilt.
It reminded him every so often with a heavy throbbing headache.

Little did he know, his wife would stumble on his affairs. She had uncovered his deleted emails. She knew he was hiding something, and the emails unveiled all his dirty little secrets. But, Instead of screaming in rage, she kept quiet and reached for her bible.

She continued to remain silent. Boris noticed that his wife was somehow rather joyful.  She also seemed to have taken a turn towards the religious. Weeks passed. It had been a busy week. Reporters were hassling around Boris’s block due to the recent case of the Koala Park destruction. It had hit Boris hard. He loved that park. It was all he talked about with his wife.

Nobody was able to wrap his or her mind around the Koala Park destruction. Yet it continued getting worse week by week. Boris brought it up daily in their conversation. His wife would lie by his side, flip through her bible and a smile would emerge. He admired her faith in such a time.

One early Thursday morning, Boris had returned from work late having just hooked up with his secretary for the second time this week, a young lady in her mid-twenties. When he came home, he noticed his wife was no where to be seen. He went to the bedroom and saw all his belongings chucked into a brown worn-out luggage bag. The bible he saw his wife faithfully read everyday laid still above the bag. He reached for the bible and slowly flipped it open, expecting to see pages and pages of words that would just keep him in a daze.

Instead. He saw a cavity in the middle of the bible. In there laid the eye of the koala carving he had in his bedroom. Attached to the eye were a key and a passage from the bible. However the word love had been cancelled.

“I love destroy because He first loved destroyed me”.

It has been years since he last saw her. They got divorce and the key she left him was to a small caravan they once owned. Now, 10 years later. He sits in that same old caravan located in the park his wife had destroyed because of his foolishness. Regret does not come close to what he feels.
